WILLIAMSVILLE, New York/EWORLDWIRE/Sep. 28, 2005 --- Printerm today announced the first available Secure MICR Solutions for the new line of Lexmark T640/642/644 printers.Specialized MICR and general office printing is consolidated on one printer supporting labels, heavy media, recycled media and specialty forms. This printer can be tailored to perform an array of business output needs through the selection of input and output paper handling devices, wireless, wired or fiber network connections, and unique optional application solutions for MICR, PDF, IPDS, bar code, PRESCRIBE or encrypted data printing.
It is equipped with a powerful 400 MHz processor and standard 64MB RAM (expandable to 576MB) for fast printing with up to 35 ppm (33 ppm for A4). It features a time-to-first-page as quick as six seconds. The combination of these capabilities means large jobs get printed with little wait time for users.
In network printers with Lexmark MarkNet(TM) N8000 series print servers, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) v3, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), IP Security (IPSec) and 802.1x authentication provide security measures for printer communications and data encryption. For any printer, hard disk data encryption for print job data security and printing restriction. Confidential printing with enhanced personal ID number (up to 10 digits) management including lockout, job expiration, and invalid PIN protection. This product includes software developed by the OpenSSL Project for use in the OpenSSL Toolkit.
It includes an intuitive operator panel with graphical "Show Me" to assist in maintaining the printer, and a convenient USB flash drive for easy direct printing of PDF files using the convenient USB Direct interface on the operator panel.

MICR Toner Cartridge, Gauge and Printerm's CheckRite 2005 Software. Optional Secure Font Box and Removable Security Flash Card are available.
