Now Media Group: Draw For Battle- A Truly New Concept In Family Games

Players Draw Characters On Battle Cards Before Combat Begins

For Immediate Release

CHICAGO/EWORLDWIRE/Jan. 16, 2006 --- Created by author Tony C. Caputo, Draw For Battle is a new concept in family gaming, combining an art instructional component as part of card game play. Players must first draw the characters chosen from the primary deck during game play before placing them onto the battlefield for combat.

"The concept dawned on me playing UNO and YU-GI-OH with my kids one day and then teaching them how to draw the next day," says Tony C. Caputo, who is the author of the award-winning VESPERS graphic novel and the art instructional bestsellers How To Self-Publish Your Own Comic Book and Visual Storytelling: The Art & Technique (Watson Guptill). "I thought it would be fun to combine two activities kids love - drawing and card play."

Caputo conceived Draw For Battle in 2004, developed it and, after some research, came to realize that it was unique and registered it with the WGA, copyrighted it with the Library of Congress and initiated the patent process. He's currently developing a go-to-market strategy which includes investments, popular licenses and school distribution.

"We don't see a lot of truly new concepts here, but this is one of them," said Milton Griepp, CEO of ICV2.COM, a leading web portal for the pop culture industry.

Draw For Battle (patent pending) includes a two stage gaming process, both unique and fun. The first part involves creating the characters onto pre-printed battle cards (also keepsakes), from a magical battle card tablet. The chosen ADD card from the primary deck includes which character to illustrate and the draw cards provide the structure for drawing, with their specific strength level and intelligence. Once the battle begins, it is possible to defeat a more powerful character with higher intelligence by picking a card from the think deck.

"It's about teaching kids of all ages about drawing structure," said Caputo. "The kids in the focus groups and beta tests had loads of fun with the prototypes. They can't wait for the real thing."
