Ambitious venture adds hi-def format to television staple

LOS ANGELES/EWORLDWIRE/Feb. 13, 2006 --- A room full of actors and actresses gather for the inaugural reading of the pilot for the first Black soap opera, "Relations." This courageous endeavor is the creation of actor/director/visionary Terry Wilkerson and is being developed by BrighteStar Productions, Inc.

At 28, Wilkerson has already had a full career in the entertainment industry with a body of work that includes Cold Case, The Shield, ER, Dangerous Minds, and a number of guest star appearances on other well known shows. His vision for "Relations" is a ground-breaking show that depicts the lives and relationships of progressive, affluent African-Americans. It's no wonder that Terry has been cast in a starring role.

Co-writer Wil Wells recorded this historical event with a high definition video camera. Director Wilkerson announced that the entire series would be taped in high definition, the new industry standard. He said, "This is a project whose time has come. We are so excited about being on the leading edge technology with our high definition approach. We want everything to be crystal clear and excellent." He's looking forward to the day when the completed project is being reviewed by companies like Warner Bros. Entertainment which will have first look rights. Executive Producer and co-writer Salenta Baisden says that she is sure that this project will be picked up because there's such a huge demand for good quality, high definition programming.

After this project Wilkerson, teamed with BrighteStar Productions, is already in preproduction on a feature film and is developing two other feature films and a made for TV movie.
