WOODLAND HILLS, Calif./EWORLDWIRE/Oct. 15, 2007 --- Latin Business magazine, a bi-monthly trade publication serving the nation's Latino business community, held its fourth awards gala. The third annual presentation of the Latin Business Spirit Awards took place Wednesday, October 10, at the Marriott Los Angeles Downtown, Los Angeles. The following awards were presented during the program:
. The Latin Spirit Award will go to Hispanic marketing visionary Daisy Expósito-Ulla, chairman-CEO d expósito & partners
. The Latin Entrepreneurial Spirit Award goes to attorney Marcos D. Velayos, Park & Velayos LLP, specializing in land use and real estate issues, including invigorating projects within Latino communities
In addition, MGM Mirage will be recognized for its major contributions to and support of the Latino community.
The event included a memorable three-course dinner and an address by keynote speaker Margaret Lazo, senior vice president, human resources, NBC TV. The evening's events were emceed by published author and leading national motivational speaker Daniel Gutierrez.
Student awardees of the Latin Scholarship Fund scholarships are Karina Barrero, Phil Gurule and Scott Olivares, who will each receive a Wells Fargo-LSF scholarship; Adrian Ayala will receive a Land Rover-LSF scholarship.
Entertainment was provided by singer/guitarist and recording artist Miguel Rivera, who studied in Spain under Flamenco master guitarists Domingo Rubichi and Moraito. The event was sponsored by Land Rover, Wells Fargo & Co., GAYOT.com and the Latin Scholarship Fund.
