"I am not delirious," stated Vaca, author of the controversial parody of the ailing United States Justice System, "Crackhead Jesus." "I realize I do not have the financial means with which to win, but the 2008 Presidential election is missing an Independent candidate like Ross Perot to challenge frontrunners to stop talking about change and start talking about solutions." The multi-media artist intends to change his political affiliation from Republican to Independent. He hopes to be involved in at least one political debate as a representative voice of the average American. "I love this country and most of the world does, too," said Vaca, "but things have gotten pretty bad over the past eight years, and the very definition of democracy is being threatened by those who claim to champion it. "Whoever wins this election can not be isolationist because the only thing that will save the global economy is free trade in a global market. Education and communication are key elements to restoring democracy. The reason the United States is failing to win favor and goodwill around the world is because leadership is failing to communicate properly with other nations. As an Independent candidate, I will strive to make this the era of free thoughts, clear dialogue, and peaceful cultural exchange." Like Ross Perot, Vaca is aiming to stir things up by forcing frontrunners to deal with taboo issues like universal health care, social security, the global trade deficit, recession, the housing market, and widespread corruption in the justice system. "I represent the 'Lied-to' Generation," the transplanted New Yorker commented. He admires fellow U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman John McCain's fortitude but feels a seventy-one year old President is not the prescription needed to jumpstart a crippled nation. "I respect Hillary Clinton for breaking the political glass ceiling, but her election could label us an Imperialist nation lead by the Bush and Clinton dynasties."
