Based on an award-winning residential product recognized for design excellence by the Third annual, 2006 Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine
For Immediate Release
PLANO, Texas/EWORLDWIRE/May 19, 2008 --- Automated Ceiling Registers, LLC (ACR), the technological leader in ventilation and airflow control, announces the Quick & Easy (TM) Commercial Register System for buildings. The product is based on an award-winning residential ceiling register recognized for excellence in product design in the third annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine (the NEWS) during 2006.
In office situations where heating and cooling airflows exceed the needs of a workspace, occupants use this technology to reduce the amount of airflow, improve comfort and save heating and cooling energy. This also eliminates the wasted energy associated with using supplemental under-the-desk heaters during summer cooling seasons or desk fans during winter heating seasons. Sweaters and coats in the summer and lightweight clothing in the winter are no longer necessary office attire. Ceiling registers covered with unsightly cardboard or plastic are a thing of the past.
Models from low-cost mechanical units that are adjusted with a simple suction cup and extension pole, to wall-switch controlled units, local temperature controlled units and wirelessly controlled units are available. Wireless ceiling register units use personal keyfobs, with 1024 unique addresses, which operate much like wireless controls that open car doors.
Airflow is continuously adjustable from zero to a maximum of 225 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and is omni-directional along the ceiling to eliminate direct drafts of air in the workspace. Airflow noise is extremely low even at restricted airflow rates. Exit velocities and air throw distances are greatly improved by the unique air valve design employed in the product.
Retrofit into existing buildings is easily accomplished by a simple drop-in design that fits the standard twenty-four inch square footprint. Duct diameters up to nine inches are accommodated and an insulation batt with vapor barrier is included. The product is compatible with metal and flexible duct and supports traditional and complementary zoning techniques. International versions are also available.
