BEVERLY HILLS, Calif./EWORLDWIRE/Nov. 16, 2009 --- American filmmaker Kathy Kolla of Cola Kat Productions in Los Angeles has been awarded "Best First Film Under 75 Minutes" at the International Film Festival South Africa for her comedic short "Another Day, Another Dime."

"It's a thrill to be internationally recognized. I am truly honored by the award," Kolla said. "Knowing the film's humor and message transcends borders is a filmmaker's dream."

Kolla gave an acceptance speech via trans-Atlantic video at the awards banquet held in Dargle, South Africa.

"Another Day, Another Dime" has won awards for both "Short Film" and"Direction" at the Accolade Film Awards and "Audience Choice" at the Flint Film Festival in Flint, Mich. It has also been screened at several festivals including SoCal Independent Film Festival and the International Film Festival Ireland.

Future screenings include the New Filmmakers Film Series in New York City and the International Film Festival Thailand.

Kolla's current projects include a "green-living" reality series and a feature-length comedy,"World's Littlest Brat," which is in pre-production.
